As part of Valdidentro’s Estate dei Piccoli, a original, fun and surprising show is coming: “Va’ dove ti porta il piede”, a visual theatre performance that captivates children and adults alike through an immediate, creative and universal language.
The show brings to the stage the distinctive and fascinating world of foot theatre, a form of figure theatre in which the performer’s body — and in particular the feet, legs and knees — is transformed into a gallery of comic, expressive and imaginative characters.
🦶 Theatre made with the body
“Va’ dove ti porta il piede” is a kind of manifesto of figure theatre that uses the body to create dozens of different characters.
Before the audience’s eyes, feet become faces, legs turn into little living puppets, knees come to life and every part of the body helps build surprising scenes, stories and situations.
The result is a visual, comic and poetic show, capable of communicating without the need for many words, through gestures, rhythm, music, transformations and imagery.
🎭 Comic characters, rhythm and imagination
The show brings together some historic pieces from the international repertoire of Laura Kibel, an artist who has enhanced and reinvented foot theatre, developing its techniques, content and expressive possibilities.
With irony, rhythm and colour, “Va’ dove ti porta il piede” tackles universal themes such as the struggle between good and evil, peace and love, turning them into light, entertaining scenes accessible to all.
Each character is born from a transformation: costumes, noses, wigs, accessories and stage details bring to life funny, tender, unpredictable figures full of character.
👨👩👧 A show for young and old
Designed for children and families, “Va’ dove ti porta il piede” is a show that can also surprise adults.
The strength of the performance lies in its immediacy: the audience sees the characters come to life before their eyes and is drawn into a theatrical game that is simple only in appearance, but rich in technique, inventiveness and manual skill.
It is a show suited to both theatres and outdoor spaces, capable of creating wonder with just a few elements and a visual language that speaks to everyone.
🧳 Music, suitcases and small worlds
Adding to the atmosphere are the music, sound effects and a set made of painted antique suitcases, which hold stories, costumes and accessories.
Each suitcase becomes a small door to a new world: when opened, it reveals stage elements that allow the characters to take shape, turning the stage into a space of play, invention and wonder.
