FreeA journey through the most beautiful music of cinema
The great emotions of cinema come to life through the bright sound of trumpets. On Saturday 15 August, at 6:00 pm, the Hotel Alpen in Valdidentro hosts a new event in the LeAltreNote series with "Sorrisi e celluloide – Le immagini della musica", a concert by the Ensemble di Trombe Friuli Venezia Giulia.
An afternoon that brings together music, memories and emotions, taking the audience through some of the best-loved soundtracks in cinema history and great melodies that have spanned generations.
🎺 An ensemble with a brilliant sound
The concert will feature the Ensemble di Trombe Friuli Venezia Giulia, a group made up of nine musicians who have been presenting original programmes dedicated to the brass ensemble repertoire for years.
The bright and captivating timbre of the trumpets becomes the common thread running through an elegant yet accessible concert, able to enhance the evocative power of music through arrangements rich in energy and colour.
🎬 The images of music
The programme pays tribute to some of the composers who wrote unforgettable chapters in the history of cinema.
It begins with the melodies of Nino Rota, with pieces from La strada, Lo sceicco bianco and Amarcord, and continues with Nicola Piovani and the poetry of La vita è bella.
There will also be the timeless atmospheres of Ennio Morricone, with Nuovo Cinema Paradiso and Se telefonando, together with music by Piero Piccioni, James Horner and Hans Zimmer, guiding the audience through emotions, adventure and great masterpieces of the silver screen.
🎼 A finale full of great classics
Alongside the famous soundtracks, the concert will also offer some musical surprises.
The programme includes the engaging Beatles Medley, a tribute to the most famous band in music history, and the iconic My Way, in a finale that combines elegance, energy and strong communicative power.
A musical journey able to speak to different audiences, alternating moments of intense atmosphere with others that are more brilliant and engaging.

The concert is part of the LeAltreNote calendar, the series that every summer brings high-level musical events to Valdidentro, enhancing the area’s most evocative places and offering opportunities for encounters between music, culture and landscape.
The setting of Hotel Alpen will make an afternoon dedicated to listening even more enjoyable, in a welcoming environment surrounded by the mountains of Alta Valtellina.
