Summer of the Little Ones 2026

As part of Valdidentro’s Summer of the Little Ones, “Traditions in Play” returns: an activity path for children that turns the know-how of the past into practical, creative and fun activities.

The 21 August session will be dedicated to sewing with the workshop “Needle and Thread: Hearts and Flowers!”, created with the help of the volunteers of the Association Museo Vallivo della Valfurva.

A special afternoon to discover the joy of making something with your own hands, needle and thread in hand.

🧵 Needle, thread and plenty of imagination

During the workshop, children will be guided in making soft decorative hearts in felt, which they can personalise with small details, colours and decorations.

A simple and engaging activity, designed to introduce younger children to the basics of sewing in a playful and accessible way.

❤️ Learning by doing

Sewing is an ancient activity, linked to everyday life, caring for things and domestic handcraft skills.

Through this workshop, children will be able to try out simple yet valuable gestures: threading, sewing, assembling, decorating, following a small project from start to finish.

A fun way to train fine motor skills, attention, patience and creativity, rediscovering a piece of the past that is still full of value.

🌸 Traditions in Play

The workshop is part of Traditions in Play, created to introduce children to local traditions through hands-on, participatory experiences.

Not just stories, but activities to experience with their hands, turning gestures, materials and memories into small objects to take home.

🎁 A keepsake for everyone

At the end of the activity, each child will receive a small gift and a participation card, which will be stamped at every workshop, to make the experience even more engaging.
