Archeoalps Excursions 2026 - Edelweiss Cave: shepherds' testimonies and Mesolithic finds

Event details

Date iconAugust 7, 2026 Price iconFree

Edelweiss Cave is one of the very few caves in the Park where engravings have been found, attributed to shepherds who, in the past, used this place as shelter during livestock transhumance. Here, too, as in the nearby area of Malga dell’Alpe, traces of human presence dating back to the Mesolithic period (about 9,000 years ago) have been found.
